“Prioritise the elements of your wedding that will live on in your memories and in your guests’ hearts.”

In recent years, I’ve noticed more and more brides leaving their hair and makeup bookings until the very last minute or not prioritising them at all. Often, this is because these services are seen as a luxury rather than an essential part of the day.

But is it really a luxury or is it an investment in how you feel, how you look, and how you’ll remember your day for the rest of your life?

Instead, budgets are frequently spent on details that, while beautiful, are quickly forgotten

fairy lights, extra glassware, table décor, signage, or even wedding cars used briefly.

These elements can add up to a significant cost, sometimes even exceeding what you would invest in professional hair and makeup.

The reality is, many of those details fade from memory by the end of the day.

What truly lasts both in your memories and in your guests’ experience are the things that create feeling and impact: the food, the drinks, the atmosphere, the entertainment, your outfit, the photography… and how you look and feel.

Your hair and makeup are not just about appearance they’re about confidence. They help you feel like the very best version of yourself on one of the most important days of your life. And unlike décor, they are captured in every photograph memories you’ll look back on for years to come.

So before getting caught up in the smaller details, take a step back and prioritise what will truly last for you and for your guests.

Think about the weddings you’ve attended. What made you stop and think, “Wow, that was amazing”?
